11.04.22 : Dim Sum X Grower Fizz. I've got questions about new styles in grower fizz, I've got questions about where the best of English grower fizz sits in their company. I thought a big dim sum lunch would be a good place to answer them. 


09.05.22 : tbc but quite possibly something really cool with wines from Ontario


30.05.22 : SOME MONDAYS MANCHESTER. We're teaming up with our good mate Frances to bring Some Mondays to Manchester. Non Riesling aromatic whites at Direct Seafood for an amazing Cantonese feast. 


20.06.22 : Vintage Australia


11.07.22 : Pot luck Bordeaux BBQ in Burgess Park. I love Bordeaux, I love BBQ, I love Burgess park. 

Burgess park has an amazing communal BBQ area. I want the Some Mondays summer party to be a drop in pot luck bring your own dishes, bring your own meat and bring whatever Bordeaux you feel suits the vibe. If we're lucky I may also bring some tables. 


15.08.22 : Transgressive rose and Desi-Chinese. All the liminal wines, the wines that sit outside of their colour categories, the wines that aren't quite right for their listing, roses that are too dark, reds that are too light, whites that blush a little too pink. That's where we're going, and we're planning on going Desi-Chinese, because we can. 

Why Mondays?

Recently we've been a bit at a loose end on Mondays. The restaurant is shut, it's a regular day off. Unfortunately, it seems like everyone else is in the same boat. 

So, I got to thinking about some fun things to do. I thought it'd be fun to curate a series of lunches in the New Year. Lunches with purpose. Lunches that are properly memorable. 

What we're looking at is one Monday a month, there'll be a theme, we'll have people that can contribute in their area of speciality; wine makers or people who know the region we're looking at. 

Everyone's welcome, you just have to not be working on Mondays and be interested in looking at wine and food a bit harder and be ready to bring a bottle that fits the lunch criteria.

I'm going to post a collection of interesting things to read around the topic of each lunch in advance so hopefully we'll all arrive hungry with a load of questions.
